iMentor
Product: Website Re-design
Role: Lead UI/UX Designer
Created at Hyperakt
iMentor is a non-profit organization that pairs high school students with college-educated mentors to help young adults achieve success from high school to college.
We were tasked with creating a website with one central theme: inspiring volunteers to become mentors. Our main goal was to highlight the mentor-mentee pairs and the stories and relationships between them. We also aimed to create a site that encouraged donations from the public and was easily accessible for iMentor's internal staff. My role was to generate the sitemap, lead the process of wireframing, and create the visual interface design for development. At the end, by maintaining a focus on iMentor's students and volunteers, we were able to let the content speak for itself. We created a visually engaging and motivating website that conveyed iMentor's mission in a clean and straightforward manner.
Wireframing Process
After analyzing iMentor's previous site-map, we refined and restructured it to create a more efficient and seamless foundation for the new re-design.
Iconography System
We created a set of over 50 icons to showcase iMentor's personality to complement the content. Each icon was created within a set of guidelines on a grid.
